The 2023 Harley-Davidson® Sportster® S is now available to riders near Tampa at Harley-Davidson® of Wesley Chapel to test ride and purchase. The Sportster® S is a relatively new motorcycle that was introduced last model year as part of the new Sport family alongside the Nightster®. The goal with the Sportster® S was to design a Sportster® for today without having to be beholden to what has come before. That resulted in a model that not many expected whereas the Nightster® strikes more of a familiar and middle ground.
The Sportster® has been designed with a modern aesthetic and therefore eschews the traditional chrome in favor of darker finishes. This dark finish pairs beautifully with the iconic and glossy Vivid Black paint, which is included at no additional charge. You can also personalize your bike with one of the premium colors. White Sand Pearl may seem familiar as it was offered last model year and was quite popular. Harley-Davidson® has introduced Bright Billiard Blue, which maintains the dark aesthetic while adding a bit of contrast, and Gray Haze is a sleek alternative to Vivid Black but one not quite as bright as White Sand Pearl.
One of the aspects of the Sportster® S that we get many questions about is the ride mode system. Ride modes are essentially profiles through which you can set parameters for throttle response, engine map, and engine braking but also the cornering enhanced technologies, including ABS and TCS. These modes can be activated as needed on the fly. There are three modes that are preprogrammed and which cannot be changed: Road, Sport, and Rain. There are additional modes as well that can be customized by you. You can do that directly through the 4-inch LCD screen.
